Heinz Ritt

Heinz Ritt (born December 30, 1918 in Neukrug, Pomerania ; † May 30, 2010 ) was a German heraldist .

Life

Heinz Ritt initially worked (1946–1949) as a porcelain painter in a small factory in Bad Nauheim . After the ceramics company closed, Heinz Ritt worked as an administrative employee and as a freelance local and family heraldist in Hesse. He quickly gained a good reputation and designed over 1,000 coats of arms , flags and seals as a freelancer for the three Hessian state archives . He is considered the creator of the newer Hessian municipal heraldry.

Heinz Ritt was a corresponding member of the scientific-heraldic association Herold zu Berlin, member of the heraldic association "Zum Kleeblatt" e. V. in Hanover and honorary member of the Hessian Family History Association e. V. Since 1985 he has worked for the German coat of arms .
