Anna Oxa 2008

Anna Oxa (born April 28, 1961 in Bari as Iliriana or Anna Hoxha ) is an Italian singer . She has participated in the Sanremo Festival 14 times since 1978 and won it twice. She also appeared as a television presenter .

Life

Hoxha was born in Bari as the daughter of an Albanian and an Italian. At the age of 16 she began her professional music career as Anna Oxa at the Sanremo Festival in 1978 , where she presented the song Un'emozione da poco (written by Ivano Fossati ) and achieved second place. It then rose to number one in the single charts. After participating in the Festivalbar competition with Fatelo con me (also by Fossati), the singer released her first album Oxanna . In 1979 Anna Oxa followed with the single Pagliaccio azzurro (a Bob Seger cover) and in 1980 the mini album Controllo totale . In 1979 she had her first film role in Maschio, femmina, fiore, frutto by Ruggero Miti . Oxa then signed a new record deal with CBS and took part in the Sanremo Festival again in 1982 with Io no (written by Mario Lavezzi ).

The next album Per sognare, per cantare, per ballare was released in 1983 and in 1984 the singer returned to Sanremo with Non scendo , followed by the album La mia corsa . In 1985 she presented the song A lei written by Roberto Vecchioni at the festival and released the album Oxa , the following year she took part in the festival for the third time in a row with È tutto un attimo . The song was also eponymous for the next album. After another festival participation in 1988 with Quando nasce un amore and the release of the album Pensami per te , Anna Oxa also appeared alongside Enrico Montesano as the presenter of the popular Italian TV show Fantastico .

In her seventh participation in the Sanremo Festival, this time in a duet with Fausto Leali , she achieved her first victory in 1989 with the song Ti lascerò . This enabled her and Leali to represent Italy at the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest with Avrei voluto . Oxa's next album was Tutti i brividi del mondo , which she presented during a summer tour with the popular group New Trolls . A live album emerged from the tour in 1990, and in the same year the singer competed again in Sanremo with Donna con te . A brief retreat from the public followed and the singer became mother to a daughter until she released her new album Di questa vita in 1992 with Columbia . In 1993 and 1994 two cover albums dedicated to the Cantautori appeared , and Oxa also presented the Sanremo Festival for the first time alongside Pippo Baudo .

In 1996 Oxa published Anna non si lascia and participated in Festivalbar . With Storie she came second again in 1997 at the Sanremo Festival, the song found its way into a compilation. In 1999 the singer finally achieved another victory in Sanremo with her tenth participation, with the song Senza pietà . After the release of the album of the same name and another festival bar participation, she returned to Sanremo in 2001 and presented L'eterno movimento . The album of the same name was then released, while in 2003 Cambierò , presented in Sanremo , and Il muro , presented at Festivalbar, introduced the album Ho un sogno . The following year the singer went on tour with Fabio Concato .

At the Sanremo Festival 2006 Oxa entered the race with Processo a me stessa and then released the live album La musica è niente se tu non hai vissuto . The single Tutto l'amore intorno (again by Ivano Fossati) finally announced their return to the limelight in 2010, which came with the album Proxima . In 2011 she took part in the Sanremo Festival for the 14th time, but her contribution La mia anima d'uomo was only moderately successful and did not reach the final. In 2014 Oxa was a participant in the dance show Ballando con le stelle (Italian version of Strictly Come Dancing ), in 2016 a juror in the 15th season of the talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi .
