Antonín Bouček

Antonín Bouček ( June 22, 1890 - February 15, 1947 ) was a Czech journalist .

Bouček was active as a journalist and occasional small publisher in the labor movement throughout his life. Initially an anarchist , he joined the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Labor Party in 1910 . When the writer Jaroslav Hašek, who had been friends with Bouček since her anarchist days , took part in the election campaign for the Austrian Imperial Council with his party for moderate progress within the limits of the law , Bouček took part in this political parody and temporarily became the party's recorder.

1914–1917 and 1919–1920 he worked as an editor of the social democratic party newspaper “ Právo lidu ”. In the various internal party disputes, he supported the left wing of the party, which split off from the party as the "Czech Social Democratic Workers' Party" ("Centralists") in 1911, but returned to the mother party in 1919, where they joined the communists who had returned from Russia to form the " Marxist Left" formed. In 1920 Bouček became the editor of their newspaper " Rudé právo ", which from 1921 became the party journal of the newly founded Communist Party of Czechoslovakia under the leadership of Bohumír Šmeral . Bouček himself became a member of the KPČ in 1921, remained as a journalist with the “Rudé právo” until 1925 and was then from 1926 to 1932 the editor of the Czech edition of the “Inprekor - International Press Correspondence” (Mezinárodní tiskové korespondence), an organ of the Communist International .
