The southern Talleitenspitze ( 3113 m above sea level ) is a mountain peak in the Schober group on the border between East Tyrol and Carinthia . She was formerly locally as day or Gamsleitenspitze called and lies on the municipal boundary of Nussdorf-Debant , Kals am Grossglockner and Heiligenblut at Grossglockner . Neighboring peaks are the Nördliche Talleitenspitze in the north, the Glödis in the west and the Gössnitzkopf in the south.
The southern Talleitenspitze was first climbed on August 12, 1900 by O. Haselberg and W. Frerichs.
Promotion opportunities
The southern Talleitenspitze is normally climbed via the easiest ascent from the Gössnitzkopf. The path initially follows from the Lienzer Hütte into the Gössnitzscharte and then unmarked over the southeast ridge to the Gössnitzkopf ( difficulty level I ). The connecting ridge between the Gössnitzkopf and the southern Talleitenspitze, which slopes steeply on both sides, is then climbed (difficulty level I-II.). First, the path leads northwest of the Gössnitzkopf into a pronounced ridge depression, then the upswing to the summit proceeds via block climbing along the ridge. More difficult places, such as the blocks lying one above the other in front of the first peak, can be bypassed on the right. This is followed by the main summit after a few minutes.
In addition to the option to descend via the Gössnitzkopf, the descent from the southern Talleitenspitze can also be done via the north ridge. After the evenly, steeply sloping ridge, which has to be completed in exposed climbing, the path continues west over steep snowfields on the Glödiskees and then at the foot of the Wandschnitzköpfe southwest to Glödistörl. The descent to the Lesachhütte can also be made from Glödiskees .
The south-west ridge and the south flank offer further ascent options to the southern Talleitenspitze.
