Anton Vyacheslavovich Batujew ( Russian Антон Вячеславович Батуев , English transcription Anton Vyacheslavovich Batuev ; born May 8, 1985 in Tschussowoi , Perm ) is a Russian skeleton athlete .

Anton Batujew lives in Moscow . He started skeleton in 2005 and has been a member of the Russian national team since 2007. At the start of the 2007/08 season , the Russian made his international debut in the European Cup in Igls and finished 34th. A week later, he finished eighth in the top ten for the first time in Königssee . Up to and including the 2008/09 season he started regularly in the European Cup. Batuev achieved the best results during this time with two sixth places in two consecutive races in Altenberg . In 2009/10 the Russian was used in the Intercontinental Cup. In all of his four missions he achieved top 20 placements, the best result was a 13th place in Winterberg . The final breakthrough made Batuev at the start of the 2010/11 season in the European Cup. In Cesana he narrowly missed his first victories behind Christian Baude in second place in the first two races of the season. The Russian also achieved single-digit placings in the other races of the season, including two more second places behind Paul Fraser and Ed Smith . In the overall standings he was also second behind Baude.

In the 2011/12 season Batuev rose to the Intercontinental Cup and achieved single-digit results there too, including two second places in Sigulda behind overall winner Michi Halilovic . In the overall classification, Batuev came in fourth. He then made his debut at world championships and finished 16th. Also in 2012/13 he started in the Intercontinental Cup , where his best results were two fourth places in seven participations. In January 2013 he took part in his first World Cup race and finished eighth in Altenberg. In the following season he returned to the Intercontinental Cup and finished there two more second places. In the overall standings he only had to admit defeat to his compatriot Nikita Tregubow . He also started at the World Cup finals in Königssee, which was also the 2014 European Skeleton Championship , where he finished sixth. Batuev started the 2014/15 season with a third place in the Intercontinental Cup . He then reached 7th and 16th place in the first two races of the season in the World Cup , but then switched back to the Intercontinental Cup . There he celebrates the first two international victories of his career in Whistler . After podium finishes in all of his five starts, he finished fourth in the Intercontinental Cup and ended the season with 11th place at the World Cup finals in Sochi .
