Nikita Mikhailovich Tregubow ( Russian Никита Михайлович Трегубов , English transcription Nikita Mikhaylovich Tregubov in the IBSF incorrectly Nikita Tregybov14. February 1995 in Krasnoyarsk ) is a Russian Skeleton pilot .

Career

Nikita Tregubow started in international races for the first time in the 2012/13 season and made her debut in the European Cup in November 2012 . He finished second in the second race in Königssee . At the Junior World Championships in December 2012 in Igls , he finished eighth. After consistently good performances, he finished the overall ranking of the European Cup with placements among the top eleven in all nine races in fourth place. In the winter of 2013/14 Tregubow then competed in the Intercontinental Cup and won the second race of the season in Igls. He was also able to place well in the other races and finished third in Altenberg and won the last race of the winter in Park City . He finally won the overall ranking ahead of his compatriots Anton Batuev and Alexander Mutovin . Tregubow qualified without a World Cup start for the Olympic Games in Sochi and came in sixth there.

The 2014/15 season began Tregubow in the Intercontinental Cup , where he finished second in three starts. In January 2015, he made his debut in the World Cup and, after two fifth places in Altenberg and Königssee, was able to achieve his first podium with a third place in St. Moritz . Tregubow was able to achieve the same placement again in Igls. In the overall standings, he finished 12th with five participations in eight races of the season. In February 2015, on his 20th birthday, Tregubow became Junior World Champion at the same time as Christopher Grotheer . He finished fourth at the 2015 Skeleton World Championships in Winterberg . In the winter of 2015/16 he initially drove three races in the World Cup , where he came third in the first race of the season. Instead of the World Cup races in North America, he then took part in the Intercontinental Cup, where he was twice winner and second in four starts. At the Junior World Championships 2016 in Winterberg he won the title again and shortly afterwards he won the bronze medal at the European Championships in St. Moritz. At the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, he competed under a neutral flag and won the silver medal.
