Arena Leipzig
The Arena Leipzig , due to a name sponsorship since October 2019 quarterback estate Arena is a multi-purpose hall in the Saxon city of Leipzig . She is z. The multifunctional hall is divided into several areas.
Main hall
The main hall has retractable and retractable grandstands and, depending on the structure, is around 2,400 to 4,656 m² in size. An existing 200-meter circular track can be opened for sporting events or covered for concerts. The six-lane running track has height-adjustable curves. The room height is between 12 and 20 meters. Depending on the event, the hall offers between 4,000 and 12,000 seats. Under the main arena there is a running area with a four-lane, 136-meter-long and 6.80-meter-wide running hose for warming up. Additional equipment includes an 18 m² video wall , a 37 m² display board with graphics capability , a weight room, a sauna, a doping control room, business premises, changing rooms, toilets and washrooms.
General sports hall
With the option of subdividing it using two partition curtains, it can be used for training and competitive sports ( volleyball , basketball and handball ). It has 300 spectator seats and a VIP - catering suitable.
Judo hall
It offers space for 150 spectators for wrestling , judo or gymnastics competitions and can also be used as a press area.

basketball
The Arena Leipzig was the home of the basketball team Uni-Giant Leipzig in the ProB from the 2011/12 to 2016/17 season . It was also temporarily the home ground of the former Bundesliga basketball players of BBV Leipzig . The Bundesliga basketball players of Mitteldeutscher BC occasionally play games with a large number of spectators in the larger hall in Leipzig.
Handball
In the Bundesliga season 2005/06 the Arena Leipzig was the home ground for all 17 home games of 1. SV Concordia Delitzsch , including against THW Kiel , SG Flensburg-Handewitt , SC Magdeburg and HSV Hamburg . The average attendance was 1944, which corresponds to an occupancy rate of 28%.
The Arena Leipzig was also the home ground of the handball ladies of HC Leipzig . Due to the success of the club you can see games of the EHF Champions League , the DHB Cup and the 1st handball league among other things. Furthermore, the junior team played their home games of the 3rd division in the "small arena" . The A-youth also played parts of their home games there.
On February 5, 2011, the HBL All-Star Game 2011 was played in the Leipzig Arena , in which the German national team and an All-Star team from the handball Bundesliga faced each other. There you can see: Filip Jícha (world handball player 2010), Henning Fritz (world handball player 2004), Thierry Omeyer (world champion 2011), Jérôme Fernandez (world champion 2011) and many other stars from national and international competitions. On February 4, 2012, the All-Star Game performed for the second time in the Arena Leipzig. Again many representatives of international renown were guests, including Domagoj Duvnjak (German champion 2011), Daniel Narcisse (world champion 2009), Bartłomiej Jaszka and Kim Andersson ( Champions League winner 2010). In the game of the German national team against the HBL All-Stars, the All-Star Team prevailed with 36:32 in front of 7532 spectators. Also in 2013 and 2014 this game took place here.
The SC DHfK Leipzig played one of its home games in the arena in the 2011/12 season . With 6317 spectators, they set a new attendance record against SV Post Schwerin on March 16, 2012. Since the 2012/13 season , SC DHfK has played all of its home games in the arena. The hall was divided for the games, which offered space for 4,000 spectators. After promotion to the Bundesliga , the capacity has been 6,327 people since the 2015/16 season .
athletics
Since its completion, the arena has regularly hosted competitions such as the German Indoor Athletics Championships .
Other sports
It was also the home ground of the Bundesliga volleyball players of VV Leipzig and VC Leipzig . The Arena Leipzig is used as a training location by the athletes of the LAZ Leipzig and the judoka of the JC Leipzig.
The 1st indoor hockey world championships for women and men took place from February 5th to 9th, 2003 in the Leipzig Arena . In February 2015, the arena was again the venue for the indoor hockey world championships . The fourth title fights for women and men were held from February 4th to 8th.

Sponsorship
In mid-October 2019, Quarterback Immobilien AG acquired the naming rights to the Arena Leipzig , which has since been officially called Quarterback Immobilien Arena . The contract runs until 2025 and includes an option to extend it.
