The Argentine national basketball team represents Argentina at international or friendly matches.

history

Argentina became the first team to win the World Basketball Championship in 1950 . The team from South America also won the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics .

This August 28 was the most successful day in Argentina in the history of the Olympic Games, because on the same day the Argentine soccer team also won the gold medal. These were the first gold medals for Argentina since the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 .

In South America, the Argentine national team is very dominant. So far she has won the continental championships 13 times (1934, 1935, 1941, 1942, 1943, 1966, 1976, 1979, 1987, 2001, 2004, 2008 and 2012). In addition, the Argentines won the American Championships in 2001 and 2011.
