Ariadne von Schirach (* 1978 in Munich ) is a German author and philosopher .

Life

Ariadne von Schirach studied philosophy , psychology and sociology first at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , from 2000 at the Free University of Berlin and at the Humboldt University in Berlin . She wrote her master's thesis with the title Identity as a nomadic wandering between existential possibilities with Gunter Gebauer about the Korean performance artist Nikki S. Lee . She is a lecturer in the Studium Generale at the Berlin University of the Arts , at the Hamburg University of Fine Artsand at the Danube University Krems .

Schirach works as a freelance writer and critic, including for the debate magazine The European . She worked as a critic for Deutschlandradio Kultur and Philosophy Magazin . In 2005 she published the essay Der Tanz um die Lust im Spiegel ; Goldmann published the book under the same title in 2007 , which deals with the consequences of an increasingly pornographic society. In February 2014, Ariadne von Schirach's second book Du shouldn't work. For a new way of life in the Tropen Verlag . In 2016 she published Me and You and Müller's Cow. Small character studies for everyone who wants to understand themselves and others better at Klett-Cotta Verlag . The Psychotic Society was published in 2019 . Schirach is the daughter of the writer Richard von Schirach and granddaughter of the Nazi Reich youth leader Baldur von Schirach and the writer Henriette von Schirach . She is the sister of the writer Benedict Wells and the cousin of the defense lawyer and writer Ferdinand von Schirach .
