Armin Friedmann

Armin Friedmann (born December 31, 1863 in Budapest , † May 30, 1939 in Vienna ; pseudonyms: Fanfaron , Kassian ) was an Austrian playwright and journalist.

Life

Armin Friedmann was born as the son of the jeweler David Friedmann and his wife Josefine Friedmann, geb. Deaf, born in Budapest. He began his journalistic activity in 1888 for Über Land und Meer and in the following years wrote for the Neue Musikzeitung , Frankfurter Zeitung , Pester Lloyd , Wage , Wiener Mode , Wiener Zeitung and Wiener Abendpost, among others . At the end of 1919 he switched to the Neue Wiener Tagblatt as a permanent art consultant .

Armin Friedmann first appeared as a playwright in 1904 with the play Die Kunst für's Volk. Posse with singing in three acts (Theater in der Josefstadt). There is evidence that he wrote 60 plays under his name and 19 under the pseudonym Fanfaron. Among other things, he wrote comic operas, operettas, teasing, antics, comedies, comedies, folk plays, skits and revues. His works have been performed in the Neue Wiener Bühne , Rolandbühne , Residenzbühne , Carltheater , Theater in der Josefstadt , Apollo , Ronacher , Renaissancebühne , Café Lurion , Maxim , Hölle , Stark , Max & Moritz and Reklame .
