Arno Schmidt Prize
The Arno Schmidt Prize was awarded by the Arno Schmidt Foundation from 1982 to 1988
"To artists and scientists who have achieved something special in Arno Schmidt's fields [...] every 2–3 years."
The prize was endowed with 50,000 DM (around 25,000 euros) and was awarded four times:
- 1982: Hans Wollschläger
- 1984: Wolfgang Koeppen
- 1986: Peter Rühmkorf
- 1988: Karlheinz Deschner
The award was then converted into the two-year Arno Schmidt grant , which is endowed with 48,000 euros.
