Arnold Zellner

Arnold Zellner (born January 2, 1927 in New York City , New York , † August 11, 2010 in Chicago , Illinois ) was an American economist who especially developed the field of Bayesian econometrics . He also developed the so-called apparently unconnected regression equations .

Life

He studied physics at Harvard University and received his PhD in economics from the University of California in 1957. He then taught at the University of Chicago and was, among other things, President of the American Statistical Association . He was accepted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1979 and was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Kiel in 1998.
