Auguste played in his home country for the Haïtien Racing Club before moving to the USA after the 1974 World Cup. There he played in the American Soccer League for the New Jersey Brewers , where the coach of the newly founded NASL team Tampa Bay Rowdies , Eddie Firmani , discovered him while scouting and was the last player to sign. In the final of the 1975 NASL championship in San José , Auguste scored the first goal for Tampa Bay's 2-0 victory over Portland. He played at Tampa Bay from 1975 to 1980, he came in 75 games (without playoffs), as well as twelve games of the indoor soccer season 1979/80 for use, before he played 1980/1981 for two years with local rivals Fort Lauderdale Strikers . During his time with the Rowdies Auguste was twice, 1977 and 1978, elected to the second row of the NASL All-Star-Team , the so-called "NASL Second Team".

In 1981/82 he played indoor soccer for Pittsburgh Spirit in the Major Indoor Soccer League , before returning to the Tampa Bay Rowdies in 1985/86 and played one last season in the American Indoor Soccer Association .

National team

Auguste was a long-time Haitian national player and even at times captain of his homeland. He interrupted his club engagements in the USA more often to play for the national team. He took part in a total of three CONCACAF championships ( 1973 , 1977 and 1981 ) and the 1974 World Cup finals.
