Arthur Seidl

Arthur Seidl (born June 8, 1863 in Munich , † April 11, 1928 in Dessau ) was a German writer and dramaturge .

Seidl studied at the universities of Munich, Tübingen , Berlin and Leipzig and was able to successfully complete his studies with a doctorate in 1887 . Alongside his studies, Seidl learned the cello and piano instruments in Munich and Regensburg and deepened his knowledge of composition.

After completing his studies, Seidl worked as an editor for various magazines and newspapers; u. a. Deutsche Wacht , Die Moderne , Munich Latest News and Latest Hamburg News .

Between 1898 and 1899 Seidl worked at the Nietzsche Archive in Weimar . During these years he was also able to distinguish himself as a specialist for Richard Wagner .

From 1904 Seidl was entrusted with a teaching position at the Conservatory in Leipzig . As early as 1903 Seidl accepted a position as dramaturge at the Dessau court theater and remained so until his death at the age of 64 on April 11, 1928.
