Asbjørn Ruud (born October 6, 1919 in Kongsberg , † March 26, 1989 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian ski jumper .

He was the son of Sigurd Theodor Ruud and Mathilde Throndsen and like other of his brothers ski jumpers, of which Birger and Sigmund were the best known. Ruud was married to the swimmer Berit Haugen . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1938 , he was world champion in jumping from the large hill. In 1946 and 1948 he was Norwegian champion. At the 1948 Olympic Games in St. Moritz , he took seventh place on the large hill. In the same year he was awarded the Holmenkollen Medal , the highest honor in Norwegian skiing.
