Ashlyn Michelle Harris (born October 19, 1985 in Cocoa Beach , Florida ) is an American football player . She has been playing for NWSL participant Orlando Pride since the 2016 season . She is also part of the US national team , with which she won the World Cup in 2015 and 2019 .
Career
societies
Harris played for the North Carolina Tar Heels, the team at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill , in her youth . In 2010 she played for six months each for Saint Louis Athletica and Washington Freedom , and in 2011 she was part of the championship team of the Western New York Flash . For the 2012/13 season she signed a contract with the Bundesliga club from Duisburg.
In the 2013 season Harris played in the newly formed National Women's Soccer League , the highest American professional league in women's football, for Washington Spirit . On August 22, 2013, she moved to Damallsvenskan -Verein Tyresö FF , where she signed a loan contract dated November 30, 2013, and then returned to Washington. Before the 2016 season, she moved to the newcomer Orlando Pride .
National team
Harris was a youth national team player in the USA and was part of the world championship team at the 2002 U-19 World Cup at the age of 16 . At the U-19 World Cup in 2004 , she was the captain of the US team that took third place. With the U21 team, she won the 2003 Nordic Cup in Denmark. In May 2012, Pia Sundhage Harris appointed four other goalkeepers to the squad for a training camp in preparation for an international match against China . She made her first international match under the new coach Tom Sermanni on March 11, 2013 at the Algarve Cup against Sweden. Harris was also called up for the US squad for the 2015 World Cup , but was not used.
She was also part of the squad for the qualifying tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympics , but was not used again. For the Olympic Games, for which only two goalkeepers could be nominated, she was not considered.
After Hope Solo was banned by the association due to her statements after the quarter-finals at the Olympic tournament lost on penalties , she was used more often, but mostly had to let Alyssa Naeher go first. On May 1st, she was nominated for the 2019 World Cup . But she was not used.
Personal
In September 2018 Harris got engaged to her teammate Alexandra Krieger , with whom she had been together for 10 years.
On December 28, 2019 they have surrounded by her family and close friends in Miami, Florida married
