August Prosenik , also Augustin Prosenik , (born August 26, 1916 in Obrežje , Krain , Austria-Hungary , † July 22, 1975 in Zagreb , Yugoslavia ) was a Yugoslav cyclist. He started for the national teams of the Kingdom and the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia and took part in the Summer Olympics twice.

The trained mechanic started his career for the clubs Sokol, Građanski and Dinamo Zagreb . His greatest success was the 12th place in the individual road race of the Summer Olympics in 1936 and participation in the team race, in which his team could not place itself among the top five teams. He also won the Yugoslav Championship and other races eight times.

After the Second World War , in which he participated as a partisan , he continued his career. In addition to winning regional races, he was also known for winning the International Peace Drive in 1948 . He returned to the peace trip in 1956 as coach of the Yugoslav team. During his participation in 1948 he kept a diary about the race and held a. a. found that all drivers received a daily ration of 100 grams of meat and that the Yugoslav drivers were busy mending their tires for a long time in the evening after the stages. At the Summer Olympics in 1948 Prosenik started again in the individual and team races, but he did not reach the goal in either race.
