The Automotodrom Grobnik is a motorsport racetrack near the port city of Rijeka in northwestern Croatia .
Between 1978 and 1990 the Grand Prix of Yugoslavia took place here 13 times as part of the motorcycle world championship .

history
The line was laid out in 1977 and completed after five months of construction. It was built specifically to preserve the Yugoslavian Grand Prix of the Motorcycle World Championship after two deaths and 19 injured on the Preluk runway in nearby Opatija, which had been used up until then, in 1977 , and the route was then removed from the World Championship calendar was.
In 1991 the end for the Grand Prix of Yugoslavia followed. The race planned for June 16 of that year was canceled due to the outbreak of the war in Yugoslavia .
