Life
Sebastian began his career in television in the early 1980s, where he worked on the Magnum series . For this and for the adventure series Die Himmelhunde von Boragora he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 1983 . Sebastian's main focus from the mid-1980s onwards was film, but he continued to work on television productions, including the series In the Heat of the Night , Dark Shadows and The Young Riders .
He made his feature film debut in 1984 with the science fiction film Starfight . This was followed in 1985 with The Goonies and Back to the Future, two Hollywood episodes . For Back to the Future , he was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Sound category in 1985, along with Bill Varney , Robert Thirlwell and William B. Kaplan , but that year the award went to Sydney Pollack's drama Out of Africa .
