The 1985 Academy Awards , d. H. that year's Oscar film award ceremony took place on March 25, 1985 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles . It was the 57th Annual Academy Awards . In the year of the award, awards are always given to films from the previous year, in this case the films from 1984.

Presenter Laurence Olivier forgot to read the nominees in the Best Picture category before announcing the winner, Amadeus . However, producer Saul Zaentz made up for the names in his acceptance speech.
