Oscar / Best Score

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Oscar for the best film music honors the composers of the film music for a film. Especially in the field of music for a film, there have been different names for the individual categories over the years, for example Music (Scoring) , Music (Original Score) , Music (Scoring of a Musical Picture) , Music (Music Score of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture) , Music (Music Score - substantially original) and a few others. This development often resulted from the changing tastes of moviegoers (for example, the boom for musicals in the 1960s). The Original Score category has existed alongside the Original Song category since 2000 .

With Marilyn Bergman ( Yentl ; together with Michel Legrand and Alan Bergman ), Rachel Portman ( Emma ), Anne Dudley ( all or not at all ) and Hildur Guðnadóttir ( Joker ), only four women in the history of the Oscars won the award for best film music .
