The stream cutting is a term used to describe the drainage or shutdown of a small body of water in order to be able to free the bed of mud, dirt and debris.

process

The term is also used to describe artificial sewers (e.g. factory sewers) that need to be cleaned or on which repair work is necessary. For this purpose, in most cases the water supply is reduced so that only a residual amount can flow into the stream bed in order to ensure the survival of the aquatic life. In the coming days, the operators of hydropower plants will be able to carry out the necessary repair and maintenance work on buildings and machines, as well as cleaning the stream bed. This work is often regulated by a cooperative or by the authorities.
