Balandin is a small impact crater on the back of the moon and therefore can not be directly observed from Earth . It is located near the eastern edge within the Gagarin crater .
Balandin is circular and has a small crater floor. Slightly smaller craters are adjacent to the east and west. Otherwise, the formation is not very noticeable and resembles a multitude of other small craters that are scattered over the lunar surface.
