Louise Henriette von Bourbon, Mademoiselle de Conti (born June 20, 1726 in Paris ; † February 9, 1759 ibid) was a French princess and by marriage Duchess of Chartres (1743) and since 1752 Duchess of Orléans .

Life

Louise Henriette was the youngest child and the only daughter of Louis Armand II. She was a princess of the blood and cousin of the French King Louis XV.

On December 17, 1743, Princess Louise Henriette was married in Versailles to Duke Ludwig Philipp von Chartres , son of Duke Ludwig I of Orléans and Margravine Auguste of Baden-Baden . After the death of her father-in-law in 1752, her husband succeeded him as Duke of Orléans .

The duchess is said to have died giving birth to an illegitimate child. Her son Louis Philippe Joseph claimed under the reign of terror in 1793 that his father was not the Duke of Orléans, but a coachman from the royal palace of Versailles. But the strong similarity between father and son could not be overlooked.

The marriage was not considered happy, and yet they had three children:
