The band with no name (short: BON ) was a German pop - band from Berlin . It was founded in 1995 under the name Die Allianz by Guy Gross and Claus Capek.

Band history

Guy Gross (born January 7, 1977) and Claus Capek (born November 22, 1976) were born in Berlin. Both left the city at a young age; Gross went to Oglesby, Illinois ( USA ), and Capek to Mahlow in Brandenburg .

Both came back to Berlin after a few years. At the age of 18, both were commissioned to work on the production of a video presentation about Berlin. They quickly realized that they were on the same wavelength and decided to make music together.

First tracks were in Capek's "mini home recording added to the parental home -Studio". Then the demo tapes were sent.

A live band was put together with the help of Capek's fellow students at the Berlin University of Music. Several prizes have been won: EVP Band Award (1997), Rio Reiser Prize (1997) and Brandenburg Rock Competition (1997). Meanwhile, the band without a name can look back on two successful albums and gold awards (including two golden tuning forks , one golden single) at home and abroad.

The band name was previously "The Alliance". However, the insurance company of the same name, Allianz , sued and was right. As a result, the band lost its name. The music broadcaster VIVA had meanwhile switched to writing only “band without a name” for music videos of the group. The fans and the group liked this name so much that they soon officially called themselves “Band without a Name”.

In 2003 the band ended. The two separated from their label and worked on solo projects. Claus Capek works as a producer and has his own record label, MCR . In 2010 he also founded the band duo Keule together with the rapper Sera Finale . The band's first release was the EP I saw you last night on Youporn , which was only available as a download.

Guy Gross released two records, but they were unsuccessful. He holds a doctorate and is a lawyer specializing in music, film, copyright and licensing law.
