Humpe's group Ideal was one of the style-setting representatives of the Neue Deutsche Welle . From 2004 to 2010 she worked again as a singer after a long break with the project Ich + Ich .

Life

Humpe spent her childhood in Herdecke and Bad Pyrmont , where she graduated from Humboldt-Gymnasium in 1971. She wrote a column with shaking verses for the school newspaper Weed-Ex :

"Now I'm going to the birch forest, because my pills will work soon."

After studying composition and piano for six semesters at the Cologne University of Music , she moved to Berlin in 1974 and gained her first experience in bands. Her younger sister Inga Humpe is also a musician ( 2-room apartment ). Annette Humpe has a son who was born in 1992.

Music career

She achieved her first commercial successes from 1979 together with her sister Inga in the formation of Neonbabies . Humpe then founded the band Ideal in Berlin in 1980 together with Ernst Ulrich Deuker and Frank Jürgen Krüger (called "EffJott") , which took over part of the neon baby's repertoire, including the later successful title " Blaue Augen ". She achieved her national breakthrough with the band Ideal, in which she sang and played keyboard . From then on she was one of the best-known representatives of the Neue Deutsche Welle . Ideal was close friends with the band Trio , for whom Humpe was a background singer several times (as in “ Da Da Da I don't love you you don't love me aha aha aha ” and “ Herz ist Trumpf ”).

1983 Ideal broke up and Humpe first appeared as a producer. She wrote and produced the commercially successful track “Codo” for the group DÖF . The title was sung by the two Austrian cabaret artists Joesi Prokopetz and Manfred diving and again by their sister Inga. In 1984 she produced the band Palais Schaumburg .

With her sister, she founded the Humpe & Humpe formation in 1985 , which she also produced herself. By 1987 the band had released two albums. The single "Careless Love" reached number 24 in the German single charts. Humpe also produced other artists such as Rio Reiser and Heiner Pudelko . In 1990 she released her last album for a long time with “Solo”, on which she can be heard with her own compositions.

After that, Humpe worked exclusively as a composer and producer until around 2004. She wrote and produced for artists such as Udo Lindenberg , Die Prinzen , Lucilectric , Michael von der Heide , Nena , Band ohne Namen und Something . In 1995 she released the album “Wall of Sugar” under the name “Bamby” - again with the participation of her sister. From 1997 to 2002 Humpe retired from the music business.

In 2004 she founded the formation “ Ich + Ich ” with the singer Adel Tawil , for which she composed and which she also co-produced; she was heard as a singer on some tracks. However, since 2007 the music of “Ich + Ich” has been presented on stage without a tankard. She said to the Spiegel : "I said goodbye to the stage before anyone asks: What is the old woman doing on stage?" Ich + Ich became Annette Humpe's most successful production to date. Both the two previously released albums “Ich + Ich” and “Vom Same Stern” as well as a few singles reached top chart positions. The album "Vomsame Stern" reached number 1 in the album charts and stayed in the top 15 for over 50 weeks. In 2009, Ich + Ich released the song Pflaster as the pre-single of their album Gute Reise , which immediately landed at number 1 in the German single charts. At the end of August 2010 a “creative break” for the duo was announced; both want to pursue their solo projects.

Annette Humpe then produced an album for Max Raabe (January 2011), with whom she also wrote the songs. In 2012 she wrote the title “I can only save love” for the band “ I Can Fly ”, which competed in the 2012 Bundesvision Song Contest for Lower Saxony.
