Jörg A. Hoppe (born August 22, 1952 in Meyenburg ; actually Jörg Albert Hoppe) is a German TV producer, manager, music publisher and music journalist. Together with Christoph Post , he founded the Film- und TV-Produktions GmbH Me, Myself & Eye (MME) in 1991 and DEF Media GmbH in 2010; In 1993 he founded the music channel Viva Germany , of which he was a partner until 1994.

Professional background

Jörg A. Hoppe studied social pedagogy in Hagen and in 1976 co-founded the alternative newspaper Hagener Volksblatt . He left the initiative and became editor-in-chief of Ulrich Wiehagen's specialist magazine, Musicians / Music News, where Kay-Oliver Schlasse worked as chief designer. He was also a concert organizer and cinema operator, founded the label Tonträger 58 in Hagen in the early 1980s and worked as a manager and music publisher a. a. from Extrabreit and Westbam . In 1988 he produced the film "Feeling and Hardness - On the History of German Rock Music" for the Goethe Institute (directed by Utz Weber / moderated by Nina Hagen ).

From 1988 to 1991 he was the music editor at Tele 5 and developed and produced a. a. the show Off Beat. In 1991 he founded the Film- und TV-Produktions GmbH Me, Myself & Eye (MME) together with Christoph Post and Marcus O. Rosenmüller , of which he was managing partner until the company's IPO in 2000. Hoppe discovered u. a. At the 65th Berlinale 2015 , his widely acclaimed documentary B-Movie: Lust & Sound premiered in West Berlin from 1979–1989 ; the film was u. a. awarded the Heiner Carow Prize of the DEFA Foundation and the VUT Award as well as a nomination for the Grimme Prize .

After suffering from cancer, Hoppe initiated the Yeswecan-cer.com platform in 2017, which aims to encourage relatives and friends of cancer patients and encourages them to deal aggressively with cancer.
