Barış Ataş (born February 1, 1987 in Kulp , Turkey ) is a Turkish football player .

Barış Ataş, who was born in Kulp near Diyarbakır in 1987 , started playing football at Diyarbakır Et Balıkspor when he was ten . In 2002 he moved to the youth of Diyarbakırspor and played for four years in different age groups. After spending the first half of the 2005/06 season with the amateurs, he was appointed to the first team by his coach, Nejat Biyediç . On December 21, 2005 he made his first game in the Cup against Giresunspor , in which he was substituted on in the final minutes. After Faruk Hadžibegić took over the team, he made nine games from the start in the relegation of Diyarbakırspor. In the following season he became an indispensable player. On matchday 28, he tore a cruciate ligament in his right knee in the game against Türk Telekomspor and had to take a seven-month break. He played his first game after his injury on November 11, 2007. He did not find his way back to his old strength and lost his regular place. When Diyarbakırspor missed promotion through the relegation games at the end of the season , he had nine missions. At the beginning of the 2008/09 season he made two games and was seriously injured again. Then there was another seven month break. Diyarbakırspor rose second at the end of the season. Barış Ataş made four games this season. In the 2009/10 season , in which he was named team captain, he had the most appearances on the team. Apart from a yellow card suspension , he has played all his team's games.

At the start of the 2010/11 season , he was associated with Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Trabzonspor. On June 22, 2010, he signed a three-year contract plus an option for twelve more months with Trabzonspor. At the end of December 2011 it was announced that the young player would be loaned to league competitor Mersin İdman Yurdu SK until July 2012 . At the end of the season he returned to Trabzonspor, but sat here until the second half of the 2012/13 season without a game on the bench.

For the second half of the 2012/13 season, his move to the second division Adanaspor was announced. Shortly before the end of the 2013 summer transfer period, he moved to the second division club Fethiyespor .

Already for the next winter break he left this club again and moved to the third division Diyarbakır Büyükşehir Belediyespor .

National team

Barış Ataş has played ten games for the Turkish U19 national team and four games for the U21 national team .
