Barbara Aschenwald (* 1982 in Schwaz , Tyrol ) is an Austrian author of poetry, prose and radio plays.

Life

Barbara Aschenwald grew up in the Zillertal . Her father is the poet Hans Aschenwald , her mother Margit Aschenwald a painter. She has been writing poetry and prose since she was 15. She attended the Episcopal High School Paulinum in Schwaz. Aschenwald studied comparative literature at the University of Innsbruck . As an assistant director and in public relations, she worked on various theater projects, including a. at the Tyrolean folk theater in Telfs .

Aschenwald was awarded the Jürgen Ponto Literature Prize for Leichten Herzens , her collection of 13 stories published in 2010 . In 2013 her novel Omka was published , which she presented at the Leipzig Book Fair and at the o-tönen in Vienna.
