Thomas Schafferer (born December 7, 1973 in Innsbruck , Tyrol ) is an Austrian writer, cultural mediator and publisher.

biography

Even before his studies (political science and media studies), he has been working as a writer since 1992, primarily in the areas of poetry and short prose. Since then, numerous publications and appearances have followed a. a. with Hans Platzgumer , Hermes Phettberg , Franzobel , Kurt Lanthaler , Ulrike Draesner or Michael Köhlmeier in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Great Britain, Italy, Croatia, Slovakia, Spain, the Czech Republic and Hungary. He is the founder of the Tyrolean literary magazine and cultural association Cognac & Biskotten , which has existed since 1998. He is a member of the IG authors authors and was from 2004 to 2006 chairman of the Tyrolean cultural initiatives (umbrella organization of around 88 cultural institutions) and vice chairman of the Kulturgasthaus Bierstindl in Innsbruck. Since mid-2008 he has been co-author and main actor alongside author Daniel Suckert in the scenic cabaret crime thriller readings "Kommissar Prohaska" case 1 and case 2, which have already been performed several times in the greenhouse Innsbruck . In 2010, Schafferer was the Austrian representative on the jury at the Prešov short story competition .

Since 2006 he has played a. a. together with Martin Amanshauser , Egyd Gstättner , Franzobel and Robert Menasse also in the Austrian national literary football team and as a striker has scored 15 international goals for Austria so far.
