Barriemore Barlow

Barriemore Barlow (also Barry or Barrie Barlow ; born  September 10, 1949 in Birmingham , England ) is a British drummer and percussionist . He gained his fame primarily as a member of the progressive rock band Jethro Tull from 1971 to 1980.

Career

At the age of 14, Barlow was the drummer in The Blades , a predecessor band of Jethro Tull, which also included Ian Anderson , John Evan and Jeffrey Hammond .

After Barlow had left Jethro Tull, he formed the band Tandoori Cassette with Zal Cleminson , Charlie Tumahai and Ronnie Leahy, but the band only existed for a short time.

In the following years he played in various projects as a guest musician, including with Robert Plant , John Miles , Yngwie Malmsteen and Jimmy Page .

Today Barlow operates a recording studio in the English Shiplake in the county of Oxfordshire , and is manager of the band The repertoire .
