Bavaria tour
The Bayern Rundfahrt was a year in Bavaria material discharged Cycling - stage race of the highest category ( HC ) of the UCI Europe Tour . The tour was first held in 1980 by RV Weiß-Blau München as an international tour of southern Bavaria for seniors aged 35 and over. In 1982 the association RSV Internationale Bayern-Rundfahrt was founded and the radius of the race was extended to all of Bavaria. After the UCI raised the minimum age for senior drivers to 41 years, the concept was changed. Since 1989, the race has been held as an open cycle race for professional teams and amateurs.
The first overall winner in 1989 was Kai Hundertmarck . In 1991, the American team Motorola was a real top team for the first time. In 1997, in addition to the Telekom team, another five professional teams were at the start. In 1999, the UCI, the world cycling association, made the Bavarian Tour the highest rated country tour in Germany. The popularity of the audience also increased more and more, tens of thousands lined the streets. In 2003 a total of 18 teams took part in the Bayern Tour, including Team Telekom, Team Gerolsteiner , Crédit Agricole , Saeco and Jean Delatour .
In 2004 the Bayern Tour celebrated its 25th anniversary: Jens Voigt was the first driver to achieve the third overall victory, Erik Zabel had 15 stage wins. More than 1 million spectators attended the route.
In 2005 the World Cycling Federation UCI classified the race in the Hors Category (HC) . The Bayern Tour was one of the most important races in the European Series. With the preliminary end of the Tour of Germany (October 17, 2008, the organizers announced that 2009, no tour of Germany will be played.) Ratings

Overall rating
As in the Tour de France , the overall leader in the individual classification wore the yellow jersey. The travel times of the stages were added. The first three drivers of a stage and the first three in intermediate sprints were also given a time bonus deducted from their total driving time. At the finish, 10, 6 and 4 seconds were deducted, with intermediate sprints 3, 2 and one second. The winner of the tour was whoever had the least travel time after the last stage.
Scoring
When crossing the finish line, the first five drivers received 5, 4, 3, 2 and one or 3, 2 and one point for intermediate sprints. The driver with the most points from all stages was allowed to wear the blue jersey in the next stage. The rider who wore the jersey after the last stage had won the points classification of the entire tour.
Mountain scoring
One or more mountain ratings could be driven during a stage. The mountain classification was won by the first driver to cross the classification line up on the mountain. Depending on the difficulty of the gradient, the ratings were divided into two different categories. In Category 1, the heavier category, the first four drivers got 5, 3, 2 or one point. In category 2, the first three drivers received 3, 2 or one point. The points of all stages were added up, as in the point evaluation. The leader in the mountain classification received the white jersey with red dots.
Young talent evaluation
The best driver in the overall standings, who was no more than 24 years old in the year of the event, received the white jersey. This rating has only existed since 1997 at the Bayern Tour.

Bavaria Tour 2005
Time trial specialist Michael Rich from the Gerolsteiner team won the overall standings by a narrow margin over Alexander Vinokurow (T-Mobile).
Bavaria Tour 2006
16 teams started in 2006. Including the ProTeams Gerolsteiner with multiple winner Michael Rich , CSC , T-Mobile Team with Andreas Klöden and Patrik Sinkewitz and Milram with Erik Zabel . The starting Professional Continental Teams were Wiesenhof-Akud from Germany, Intel-Action (Poland), Agritubel (France), Chocolade Jacques , Unibet.com (both Belgium), Naturino-Sapore di Mare (Switzerland), Miche , Tenax Salmilano (both Italy) and Volksbank-Vorarlberg (Austria).
Erik Zabel (Team Milram) won the first stage from Gunzenhausen to Starnberg on May 24th, 2006 ahead of René Haselbacher and Sebastian Siedler . The next stage from Starnberg to Grassau was won by Gerhard Trampusch from the Wiesenhof team, who also led the overall ranking. Ralf Grabsch (Team Milram) escaped shortly before the finish on the third stage from Übersee to Bad Birnbach from a top group of 12 and won ahead of Christian Müller from Team CSC and the Brazilian Murilo Fischer from Italian Team Naturino-Sapore di Mare. Gerhard Trampusch continued to lead the overall ranking.
In the individual time trial from Plattling to Deggendorf over 25.4 kilometers on May 27, the following placements were achieved:

- Alberto Martínez (Agritubel): 32:54 minutes
- Andreas Klöden (T-Mobile): 33:08 minutes
- Brian Vandborg (CSC): 33:10 minutes
Alberto Martínez took over the overall leader's yellow jersey. The final stage from Plattling to Cham on Sunday, May 28, 2006, which was influenced by heavy rains, won the sprint of a four-man breakaway group Björn Schröder (Milram) ahead of Peter Wrolich (Gerolsteiner). Pieter Ghyllebert (Chocolade Jacques) won the sprint of the main field ahead of Robert Retschke (Wiesenhof).

Bavaria Tour 2007
Before the start, the Bayern Tour was marked by the discussion about Erik Zabel's doping confession a week beforehand. In the sprint final of the first stage on May 30, 2007 from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Gundelfingen on May 30, 2007 André Schulze from Team Wiesenhof-Felt won ahead of Stuart O'Grady ( CSC ) and Cologne's David Kopp ( Team Gerolsteiner ). The Bavaria Tour 2008 took place from May 28th to June 1st, 2008. Christian Knees won the overall classification, the Austrian Thomas Rohrgger the mountain classification and Gerald Ciolek the sprint classification. Team Gerolsteiner won the team classification .

Bavaria Tour 2009
The 2009 Bavaria Tour took place from May 27th to 31st, 2009. Linus Gerdemann won the overall classification, the Belgian Thomas De Gendt the mountain classification and André Greipel the sprint classification. The winner in the team classification was Agritubel . This year, the Bayern Tour was of particular importance. By canceling the Germany Tour, the tour became the most important German stage race of the year, and it also celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Pieter Serry won the mountain classification, Edvald Boasson Hagen the sprint classification and Thibaut Pinot the junior classification. The best German driver in the overall classification was Andreas Klier from the Garmin-Cervelo team. The winner of the team classification was the British team Sky ProCycling .

The 2012 Bavaria Tour took place from May 23 to 27, 2012. The winner of the overall ranking was the Australian Michael Rogers from the Sky ProCycling team . Steffen Radochla (NSP-Ghost) won the mountain classification, Alessandro Petacchi (Lampre ISD) the sprint classification and Tony Gallopin (RadioShack-Nissan) the junior classification. The best German driver in the overall classification was Christian Knees from the Sky ProCycling team. The winner of the team classification was the British team Sky ProCycling.

The Bayern Tour 2013 took place from May 22nd to 26th, 2013. The winner of the overall classification was the Italian Adriano Malori from Team Lampre-Merida ahead of the British World Champion and Olympic Champion Geraint Thomas from Team Sky ProCycling . Stefan Denifl (IAM) won the mountain classification, Grischa Janorschke (Team Nutrixxion Abus) the sprint classification and Diego Ulissi (Team Lampre-Merida) the junior classification. The best German driver in the overall ranking was Simon Geschke from Berlin . The winner of the team classification was the Swiss team IAM Cycling .

Tour of Bavaria 2014
The Bayern Tour 2014 took place from May 27th to June 1st, 2014. The overall winner was the British Olympic champion Geraint Thomas from the Sky ProCycling team . The Canadian Christian Meier ( Orica GreenEdge ) won the mountain classification, Sam Bennett ( Team NetApp-Endura ) the sprint classification and Thibaut Pinot (Team FDJ.fr) the junior classification. The best German driver in the overall standings was Christian Knees . The winner of the team classification was the British team Team Sky .

Bavaria Tour 2015
The 2015 Bayern Tour took place from May 13th to May 17th, 2015 and was held in five stages, including an individual time trial , over a total distance of 830.6 kilometers. The Briton Alex Dowsett of the Movistar Team also won the overall standings after his victory in the time trial. John Degenkolb won the sprint classification, Frederik Veuchelen the mountain classification. The Cannondale-Garmin team won the team classification .
