Pack Beauregard Willimon (known as Beau Willimon , born October 26, 1977 in Alexandria , Virginia ) is an American film and television producer and screenwriter . He became known as the showrunner of the first four seasons of the House of Cards series .

life and work

In 2000, he worked on Hillary Clinton's campaign to apply for New York Senator.

In 2011 he worked as a writer and co-producer on the feature film The Ides of March , which is a film adaptation of the play Farragut North , which he wrote . At the 2012 Academy Awards , the film was nominated in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.

From 2012 to 2016, Willimon played a key role as showrunner in the production of the television series House of Cards , which is an American adaptation of the BBC series A House of Cards . The global premiere of the first season was on February 1, 2013 on Netflix . He left the series after the fourth season. Two more seasons were produced, the series ended in 2018.
