Bernd Böhlich
Bernd Böhlich (born April 25, 1957 in Löbau , Dresden district , GDR ) is a German film director .
Life
Böhlich began his film career as an assistant director for GDR television . He completed his studies in directing at the University of Film and Television Potsdam in 1982 with his diploma film Fronturlaub . He then worked as a director and screenwriter for GDR television.
Even after reunification , he mainly made television films and series. In 2007 he made his second, most successful feature film to date . You are not alone . Axel Prahl and Katharina Thalbach play the main roles in this comedy, which is about unemployment . In 2008 the film The Moon and Other Lovers followed , again with Katharina Thalbach in the lead role. He was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize twice for his television work.
Böhlich lives in Berlin-Pankow. His father is the painter Adolf Böhlich (born April 29, 1933 in Johannesberg in the Jizera Mountains , Czechoslovakia ).
