Bernd Bösch (born February 21, 1961 in Lustenau ) is an Austrian politician ( Die Grünen ) and entrepreneur. Bösch was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from 2004 to 2014 .

Education and personal life

Bernd Bösch was born on February 21, 1961 in Lustenau as the son of the entrepreneur Siegfried Bösch and his wife Anita. He attended elementary school in Lustenau, the Federal High School in Bregenz and the Lustenau Commercial Academy , where he graduated in 1980 . After completing his community service, Bösch became an employee of the Lustenau youth center "s'Huus" in 1982. In 1983 he was also an employee of the textile company Klingtex in Lustenau, before he took over his parents' company, a specialist retailer for household goods in Lustenau, in 1984. He is still self-employed in this company today.

Bösch has been married to Brigitte (née Grajzar) since 1984 and has two daughters. He lives with his family in Lustenau.

Political career

In 1984, Bernd Bösch co-founded the Lustenau Alternative List , from which the Lustenau Greens later emerged. In 1985 he became a substitute member of the Lustenau municipal council for the first time for the alternative list . In 1990 Bösch was elected a member of the municipal council. In 1996 he was elected a member of the municipal council and was appointed chairman of the Lustenau Greens. From 2000 to 2005 he was subsequently vice-mayor of the market town of Lustenau. After the municipal council elections in 2005, he had to hand over the position of vice mayor to Kurt Fischer (ÖVP) and shortly thereafter retired from the council, where he was replaced by Thomas Mittelberger on September 22, 2005. But he remained a member of the community council and worked there as chairman of the sports committee.

In 2004 Bernd Bösch became state spokesman for the Vorarlberg green economy . As such, he has been a member of the economic parliament of the Vorarlberg Economic Chamber since 2005 . After the state elections in Vorarlberg in 2004 , Bernd Bösch was sworn in for the first time as a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament on October 5, 2004. In the run-up to the state elections in 2014 , Bösch announced that he would no longer run for a state parliament mandate and left the new state parliament on October 15, 2014.
