The trade association raw materials and chemical industry ( BG RCI ) is a statutory accident insurance company and was established on 1 January 2010 through the merger of mining BG , quarry-BG , the professional association of the chemical industry and the BG management community Mainz ( leather industry-BG , sugar -BG , Papermakers-BG ). BG RCI is responsible for around 32,000 member companies with around 1.4 million employees. BG RCI is based in Heidelberg . In addition to Heidelberg, the Bochum, Mainz and Langenhagen locations also take on central administrative tasks.

BG RCI supports companies in the mining, building materials - stone - earth, chemical industry, leather industry, paper manufacture and equipment as well as sugar sectors and advises them on issues relating to occupational health and safety. As a commercial trade association, it has the statutory mandate to prevent work accidents as well as occupational diseases and work-related health hazards (prevention). In the event of accidents at work, commuting accidents and occupational diseases, the employers' liability insurance association provides rehabilitation and compensation payments.

BG RCI has adopted the prevention strategy "VISION ZERO. Zero accidents - work healthily!" prescribed. By means of suitable preventive measures, this strives for a working world in which nobody is injured, killed or become so seriously ill at work that they suffer lifelong damage.

history

On February 29, 2008, the boards of the individual employers' liability insurance associations decided at a joint meeting to recommend the merger to the representative assemblies. In October 2008, the representatives of the individual merger partners signed the merger agreement.
