The Bible Seminary Bonn in 1993 in Bonn as a denominational theological training center for community and mission founded. The Bibelseminar Bonn works with the community association BTG-KeF.

The Bibelseminar Bonn sees its tasks in linking theology, congregation and mission particularly closely - in teaching as well as in practice. It is very community-based. Binding participation in the community is not only taught at the BSB, but also encouraged. The BSB represents an evangelical - free church understanding of the community and stands in the Baptist - Mennonite faith tradition.

The Bible seminar is housed in the Wittgenstein House in Bornheim near Bonn . It has been organized as a registered association since 1995 .

history

The Bibelseminar Bonn was founded in 1993 by Russian Germans from the Association of Taufgesinnter congregations . Initially, the lessons took place in the Evangelical Free Church (Baptists) in Bonn. In 1996 the Wittgenstein house in Bornheim - Roisdorf , previously the seat of the " Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen " party, was acquired. In 1995 the theological distance school was started as an alternative to the day school. In 1997 the theological evening school was opened. It offers volunteers the opportunity to study alongside family and work. In 2002 the Bibelseminar Bonn set up a new educational program (for children and youth speakers) with some mission organizations. Since 2004 the theological weekend school has taken place in Porta Westfalica . In 2005, after a few years of preparation, the master’s program was started in cooperation with the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary ( Fort Worth / Texas ). To date (as of 2020) around 1000 students have already completed the various training courses.
