The Birkenweiher area is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.206) in the southeast of the city of Tettnang in the Lake Constance district in Baden-Württemberg , Germany, which was designated by the Tübingen Regional Council by ordinance of July 20, 1992 .

location

The approximately 13 hectare nature reserve Birkenweiher is part of the Westallgäu hill country. It is located southeast of Tettnang in the Tettnang Forest , between the districts of Argenhardt in the northwest, Iglerberg in the northeast and Laimnau in the southeast, at an altitude of 510  m above sea level. NN . The corridors Wagnerbühl , Birkach , Grafenholz , Mördergrube and Münzlachen are located around the nature reserve .

Protection purpose

Essential protective purpose is the preservation of a part as a stray field used small sedge fen , which many rare and protected plant and animal species habitat provides.
