Bottensee
The Bottensee ( Swedish Bottenhavet , Finnish Selkämeri , English Bothnian Sea ) is the southern part of the Gulf of Bothnia . It lies between Sweden and Finland .
The Bottensee is up to 293 m deep, covers an area of around 73,300 km² and has a volume of around 4,530 km³ . In the north it is connected to the Bottenwiek by the Kvarken strait and in the south by the Åland Sea and the Archipelago with the actual Baltic Sea . The largest seaport cities are Sundsvall and Gävle on the Swedish side and Pori and Rauma on the Finnish coast.
