Brandenburg Aktuell is the regional magazine of Rundfunks Berlin Brandenburg (rbb) for the state of Brandenburg , which can be received terrestrially, via cable and digitally via satellite.
background
The program is broadcast daily on rbb television at 7.30 p.m. while viewers in Berlin receive the evening show . The magazine provides information about political and cultural life in Brandenburg and provides background information on special events. Sports in Brandenburg and local stories from the state of Brandenburg are also topics of the program. In the early years there was also world news in “Brandenburg aktuell”, but this was abolished in 2000 (when ORB television began to take over the daily news ).
The first program was broadcast on May 2, 1992, at that time from Barrack 38 on the film grounds in Babelsberg . In 1996, the ORB built new buildings there for television and radio operations. Since the merger of the ORB and SFB to form the rbb, a joint television program has been produced for the states of Berlin and Brandenburg, only between 7.30 p.m. and 8 p.m. both states receive their own regional news.
