Remarks

  1. a b The two 7 Pfennig stamps (MiNo. 135 and 142) with the image of the radio tower differ only in the position of the description of the motif at the top or bottom of the stamp.
  2. As was customary at the time, the sentence of the Berlin Buildings was printed on normal paper with watermarks . However, the 1-Pfennig postage stamp was printed for a very long time and from 1962 it was also printed on fluorescent paper without watermarks. It was also sold in West Germany from July 20, 1960 and was valid for a particularly long time. It was recommended to stick this stamp on the mail in addition to the normal postage as an external sign of attachment to Berlin.
  3. a b c d e f Although the postage stamps with a face value of 1, 5, 30, 40 and 60 Pfennig were not issued until 1957 and the 3 DM stamp was not issued until 1958, they are part of the set issued in 1956 and thus count among the stamps of 1956.
