Buffalo is a city in Leon County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city lies halfway between Dallas and Houston on Interstate 45 and halfway between Austin and Tyler on US Highway 79 and has a total area of ​​10.5 km², of which 0.1 km² is water.

history

In 1993 and 1994 the city changed its name to Blue Star, Texas during the Super Bowl season in support of the Dallas Stars against the Buffalo Sabers on the Stanley Cup final weekend . The Dallas Stars won both times. In 1999, the city changed its name to Green Star, Texas on the same occasion .

According to the 2000 census, 1804 people lived here in 668 households and 474 families. The population density was 173.3 inhabitants per km ².
