Even during the Thirty Years' War , the castle served the rural residents as a refuge when enemies approached . The castle was expanded in the 15th century. After the modern decline of the castle of the castle tower in 1863 in the time of askanischen restoration by Duke Leopold Friedrich renewed.
investment
The castle complex on a steep slope towards the Nuthe to the west and north had a main castle with a centrally located keep and an outer bailey separated by a large section ditch . The main and outer bailey were connected by a drawbridge . From bricks existing perimeter wall of the upper castle and the round, twelve-meter high keep with 2.6 meters thick walls and double gates are still well preserved.
