Charlotte Sembdner

Charlotte Sembdner (born June 13, 1907 in Dresden , † April 22, 1993 in Elstra ) was a German party functionary of the GDR bloc party NDPD and a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Charlotte Sembdner was born the daughter of a master furrier. After completing secondary school for girls, she first attended the teachers' seminar in Dresden from 1924 to 1928, before studying pedagogy, psychology and modern languages at the Pedagogical Institute of the TU Dresden from 1928 to 1932 . Charlotte Sembdner joined the NSDAP in 1933 . From 1932 to 1945 she worked as a teacher and at times as headmistress.

After the Second World War , she initially worked in her father's business as a furrier assistant, later she worked as a civil engineering worker. In 1948 she became a member of the DFD and the Saxon DFD state board. In the same year she joined the newly founded NDPD . Sembdner was only allowed to return to her old profession as a teacher in 1950 because of her NSDAP membership. From 1951 to 1963 she belonged to the main committee of the NDPD and from 1952 to the NDPD district committee in Dresden, where she headed the women's department.

From 1950 to 1967 she was a member of the NDPD parliamentary group in the People's Chamber, where she sat on various committees. In 1963 Sembdner was appointed director of the “Alexander Puschkin” cultural center in Dresden-Nord.
