from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Charly Stock (born April 11, 1936 in Berlin ; † May 22, 2019 in Mönchengladbach ) was a physiotherapist who worked as a masseur at Borussia Mönchengladbach for 28 years . Stock was a member of the honorary council of the five-time German champions until the end and was also co-founder of the traditional Weisweiler Elf team in 1991 .

Life

Stock was initially a masseur in a hotel in Bad Wörishofen and then worked for Borussia since 1962. At the beginning of his activity he looked after players such as Herbert Lmouth , Albert Jansen , Heinz Lowin , Manfred Orzessek and Walter Wimmer , and in the mid-1960s Egon Milder , Günter Netzer , Jupp Heynckes , Bernd Rupp and Werner Waddey under coach Hennes Weisweiler .

Stock was also the host of the club's first football boarding school in Marktfeldtstrasse and a founding member of the Weisweiler-Elf in 1991. He was also a member of the honorary council. After finishing his work as a physiotherapist, Stock continued to work for Borussia - as a team supervisor, management assistant, contact manager, doping officer, person in charge of the Weisweiler-Elf , member of the honorary council and guardian of the club's treasures for Borussia.

Appreciation

Under the heading “Helping hands”, the Chronicle honors Stock's work as a physiotherapist and also as the successor to Mathilde Brückmann in 1991 as head of the House of VfL Talents.

Jupp Heynckes said about Stock: “A friendship has developed over time. Charly was the good spirit in the club and an institution at Bökelberg. He was more than a physiotherapist. Always friendly and helpful. A real confidante. "

Berti Vogts remembered: “When you lay on his lounger, there were no more secrets, you talked about everything. He always rebuilt us when there were problems, and when it was necessary he secretly got us a beer. He was a perfect fit for us, for Borussia. He had a good feel for the moods and vibrations in the team and therefore always knew what was going on with us. He could handle all the different personalities. He was a great person. "
