Cheorwon is a district in Gangwon Province in northern South Korea .
history
In the demilitarized zone on the border with North Korea , an exchange of fire took place at Cheorwon on May 3, 2020 . There was no personal injury on the South Korean side, a South Korean guard was hit by gunfire from North Korea and several warning shots were fired in South Korea.
