Christopher "Chris" Henry (born November 13, 1965 ) is an English - Belgian snooker player and trainer. Henry was a professional player in the 1990s for a few seasons and without much success and then worked as a coach, where he worked with several top players.

Career

Snooker player

In the mid-1980s, Henry tried to qualify for the professional tour through the WPBSA Pro Ticket Series , but failed early. After the professional tour was opened to all players for a certain entry fee in the early 1990s, Henry became a professional player for the 1992/93 season. In addition to some early defeats, he was eliminated from the World Snooker Championship in the fifth and the Grand Prix and the UK Championship in the sixth qualifying round. As a result, he was ranked 397th in the world. After he did not play any more professional games, he slipped to rank 404 and lost his professional status at the end of the 1994/95 season .

In 2006, Henry took part in the Fürth German Open as an amateur and lost to Mark Joyce in the last 48 . In 2009 Henry tried to qualify again for the professional tour via the EBSA International Play-Offs , but was eliminated in the group phase. During the 2010/11 season he took part in several events of the Players Tour Championship , but was eliminated in the round of the last 128 at the latest. In the next season he reduced his PTC participation to two tournaments, namely the Paul Hunter Classic and the Antwerp Open , but had to admit defeat in the qualification.

Trainer

Henry later worked as a trainer and focused primarily on the mental aspect of the snooker game. He works for a Belgian company called Acuerate , which among other things develops special cues . He worked with former world champions Peter Ebdon and Shaun Murphy and also with the WPBSA . There are also other players who worked with Henry, including seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry .
