Christian Friedrich (born June 2, 1981 ) is a former German bobsleigh athlete .

Career

In the 2004/2005 season Christian Friedrich switched from athletics to bobsleigh. Since 2005 he has been part of the German national team. His first international race was the 4-man European Cup on the artificial ice rink at Königsee. There the junior team around Nico Oetzel, Nils Böhm, Christian Friedrich and Patrick Göder took 6th place. Christian Friedrich contested his first World Cup race in Matthias Höpfner's bobsleigh on the natural ice rink in St. Moritz .

In the 2010/2011 season, Christian Friedrich won the silver medal at the artificial ice rink at Königsee in Karl Angerer's bobsleigh together with Alexander Mann and Gregor Bermbach .

After a long break from injury, Christian Friedrich returned to the World Cup in the 2012/2013 season and started this season with Manuel Machata . Christian Friedrich started his career in international races for Thomas Florschütz and Maximilian Arndt .

In the summer of 2014, Christian Friedriche ended his career due to an injury. He is still active in bobsleigh today as a sports warden of the BSC Winterberg , as well as race and organization manager and jury member of the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (IBSF).
