Christian Stuff (born August 11, 1982 in Berlin ) is a former German soccer player and current coach.
Career
Stuff started playing football at Borussia Friedrichsfelde (then still under the name Motor Lichtenberg ) in 1988 and remained loyal to the club until 2002 - interrupted by a two-year stint at SV Empor Berlin (1998-2000). He then played at SV Lichtenberg 47 and went from there to 1. FC Saarbrücken . With the Saarbrücken in the 2003/04 season, he was promoted from the Regionalliga Süd to the 2nd Bundesliga and won the Saarland Cup . With 25 games and two goals, Stuff made a significant contribution to the promotion and also made 24 second division games in the following season, which he played primarily as a substitute. In the 2005/06 season, however, things did not go so well for him and he lost his place in the FCS team. Therefore, the club loaned him to the regional league club Eintracht Trier at the start of the second half of the season , where Stuff's former coach Eugen Hach was employed.
In Trier, Stuff was part of the team's regular staff again, but could not prevent the team from relegating from the Regionalliga Süd to the Oberliga Südwest . Since Trier could no longer afford stuff and Saarbrücken no longer wanted it, he returned to his hometown to 1. FC Union Berlin , with whom he was relegated and won the Berlin Cup in his first season . In the 2007/08 season he qualified with the "Iron" for the new third division , in which the team was able to celebrate the championship and thus the return to the second division a year later under coach Uwe Neuhaus . Stuff maintained his regular place at Union in the 2008/09, 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons and played a total of 82 games in which he scored a total of six goals.
At the beginning of the 2014/15 season he joined FC Hansa Rostock - equipped with a one-year contract including an option to extend. In January 2015 he terminated his contract and returned to Union. There Stuff was used in the U-23 and ended his career at the end of the season.
After his time as an active player, Stuff has now devoted himself to the football training of the juniors at the junior performance center of 1. FC Union Berlin, where he has since worked in various coaching positions.
