Christina Maierhofer (born July 13, 1991 ) is a German biathlete .
Christina Maierhofer began alpine skiing in 1995 , cross-country skiing in 1998 and biathlon in 2001. Since 2003 she has belonged to various youth squads of the Bavarian Ski Association . The athlete from SC Bergen is trained by Fritz Fischer and her uncle Andreas Stitzl .
As a student, she attended the Annette-Kolb-Gymnasium in Traunstein . In 2004/05 she won the German Cup in age group S14 and in 2007/08 in age group J17. In 2009 she won the individual title at the German J18 / 19 championships, in the sprint she won silver. In the same year she also achieved her first major international successes in her first international appearances at the European Youth Olympic Games in Slask Beskidy . In the sprint and mixed relay, she won the title, in the pursuit she was silver. Maierhofer celebrated her first and so far greatest success with women at the German Biathlon Championships in September 2009 when she won the relay competition together with Magdalena Neuner and Martina Beck . The young athlete showed a surprisingly strong performance and made a significant contribution to winning the title.
